What is Smart Girls Uganda?

Smart Girls Uganda is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women through education, mentorship, skills development, and health awareness. We focus on building confidence, resilience, and leadership abilities in young women to help them thrive in all areas of life. 

What is your main goal or mission?

Our mission is to equip girls and young women with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to lead independent, productive, and empowered lives. We aim to break barriers to education, end gender-based violence, and promote gender equality across Uganda

Can boys or men participate in any way?

Yes. While our core focus is on empowering girls and young women, we welcome boys and men to participate as allies, volunteers, and mentors. We also engage men and boys in community programs that promote gender equality and respect for women and girls.

How can I volunteer or mentor with Smart Girls Uganda?

We’re always happy to welcome passionate individuals who want to make a difference. You can volunteer or become a mentor by:

Filling out the volunteer/mentor application form on our website

Reaching out to us via email or social media

Attending one of our orientation sessions for new volunteers
We offer both local and remote volunteering opportunities.

Do you accept donations and how are they used?

Yes, we accept donations in cash and in-kind. Donations are used to support our training programs, provide menstrual hygiene kits, sponsor education for vulnerable girls, and run community outreach activities. We ensure transparency and accountability in all our spending.

Where are the training centers located?

Our main training centers are located in Kampala, with additional outreach and satellite programs in several districts across Uganda. We are continually expanding our reach to ensure more girls, especially in rural areas, can access our services.
